Letter: We should learn from, and act on, GE's polluting ways

To the editor:

What is happening with GE is a warning to us all on many levels. It says that companies move in, temporarily give people jobs, then move away leaving the hosts with poison that the hosts will then have to deal with forever.

The thing is, even though we no longer have the backing of the Environmental Protection Agency (because unlike Obama's EPA, Trump's doesn't care about the environment), we are not actually helpless, even if the people who made this deal want us to think that to excuse their failures.

Unfortunately, it would require working together and caring about each other. At a minimum, GE could be kicked out of Boston and unable to build headquarters anywhere. It just requires the will.
