Letter: Zoning changes should help Stockbridge
To the editor:
Thank you to Gov. Baker. He has "finally" changed zoning in the state of Massachusetts. He has signed into law that to change zoning, communities will need only a majority vote. Formally the law required a two-thirds vote to make any zoning changes.
Hopefully this new law will open up opportunities for towns to regard the votes of the majority instead answering to an arbitrary two-thirds.
Maybe this will open the town of Stockbridge to ventures that were silenced in the past.
