Mass. DPH virus update: Another Berkshire resident dies from COVID-19; one more case in county

There was one new COVID-19 death in the Berkshires, and one more case has been confirmed in the county, the state reported on Monday.

Massachusetts announced 38 new deaths Monday, now totaling 7,353 statewide. 

The number of people killed by COVID-19 in Berkshire County now s at 41; to date, 575 have contracted the virus in the Berkshires, up from 574 on Sunday.

The state Department of Public Health reported that there were 193 new confirmed cases, for a statewide total of 103,626.

In the U.S., 110,375 Americans have been killed by COVID-19, and 1,938,823 have tested positive for the virus, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
