Mass. DPH virus update: No Berkshire deaths since Friday; cases ratcheted down by 1

Deaths in the Berkshires from the coronavirus hold at 42, and there are no new cases of the disease in the county since Saturday, the state announced Monday afternoon.

In Berkshire County, there have been 579 positive coronvirus cases to date; that's been adjusted down from 580 on Sunday. There have been no additional deaths in the county since Friday.

The commonwealth announced 23 new deaths Monday, with the statewide total now. 

The DPH reported 87 new positive test cases statewide, for a new total of 105,690 since the pandemic began.

Across the U.S., 115,644 have died from COVID-19, and 2,085,769 have tested positive for the virus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
