Mass. DPH virus update: No Berkshire deaths, two new cases, 167 dead statewide

There were no new Berkshire deaths from the coronavirus, and two new cases in the county, according to data released by the state Thursday.

Statewide, 167 new deaths were reported by the state Department of Public Health, for a total of 5,482 since the pandemic began. The county death toll remains at 37.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the Berkshires is now at 488, up from 486 on Wednesday.

In all, 1,685 new cases were reported in Massachusetts, bringing the statewide total to 82,182.

The U.S. death toll now stands at 83,947, and there have been 1,384,930 cases of COVID-19 nationwide, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
