Mass. DPH virus update: No new cases, no new deaths in Berkshires on Monday

The state announced no new COVID-19 deaths and no new cases of coronavirus in the Berkshires, on Monday.

The death toll for Berkshire County held at 37 for the 14th day on Monday. The county total for cases stands at 497.

Statewide, 65 new deaths were reported by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, for a total now of 5,862. The coronavirus case count rose by 1,042 to 87,052.

As of Sunday, 2,533 people with the disease in Massachusetts were being cared for in a hospital, 674 of them in an intensive care unit.

In the U.S., there have been 89,407 deaths and 1,480,349 cases of coronavirus, according the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
