Mass. DPH virus update: No COVID-19 deaths for 15 days in Berkshires; no rise in cases since Sunday

Berkshire County has had no coronavirus deaths for 15 days, state officials announced Tuesday.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health also announced no new COVID-19 cases in the Berkshires. The county total for cases also stands at 497, unchanged since Sunday.

Statewide, 76 new deaths were reported by the state, for a total now of 5,938. The coronavirus case count rose by 873 to 87,925. 

As of Sunday, 2,472 people with the disease in Massachusetts were being cared for in a hospital, 672 of them in an intensive care unit.
