Mass. DPH virus update: No new deaths, one more case of virus in Berkshires

There were no new COVID-19 deaths and one new confirmed case of coronavirus in the Berkshires, the state reported on Thursday.

Massachusetts announced 38 new deaths, now totaling 7,492 statewide. 

The number of people killed by COVID-19 in Berkshire County holds at 41; to date, 575 have been confirmed to have contracted the illness, up one from Wednesday. 

The state Department of Public Health reported that there were 519 new confirmed cases, for a statewide total of 104,667.

In the U.S., 112,967 Americans have been killed by COVID-19, and 1,994,283 have tested positive for the virus, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
