UPCOMING MEETING/TRAININGS: The Berkshire MRC, in partnership with Berkshire Opioid Abuse Prevention Collaborative, will offer a series of free NARCAN trainings on Monday evenings in February in conjunction with regional MRC Volunteer meetings. NARCAN can reverse the effects of an overdose. The training is geared towards individuals with little to no medical training, although some familiarity with First Aid/CPR will be helpful.

On Feb. 16, ASSERT Training (Autism Spectrum Support for Emergency Response Teams) will be held in Greenfield for emergency responders, volunteers, and anyone who wants to acquire strategic communication skills. This training will discuss the needs of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and the specific impact of displacement due to emergency or disaster on this population. An overview of specific strategies for meeting communication, sensory, and behavioral needs will be provided.

The dates for all these trainings are listed below and may be found on our website at There, you can also find information about being an MRC volunteer, other training opportunities, and resources for preparing for emergency events.
