Patrick Surdam, lead singer and guitarist of Cura Cura and The Nice Ones returns to the Down County Social Club, 7 to 10 p.m., beneath the Stagecoach Tavern, 864 South Undermountain Road, Sheffield. According to Race Brook Lodge, "Patrick's performances are a mixture of intimate, soulful interpretations of covers — from Leonard Cohen to Nina Simone — acoustic performances of Nice Ones' and Cura Cura catalog ... His impeccable guitar playing and lilting vocals come together to deliver a hauntingly beautiful evening of entertainment." Cover is at $10 donation for the artists. Kavita Shah will be performing at MASS MoCA, 8 p.m. According to MASS MoCA, "The stunning vocalist and composer Kavita Shah works elements of Brazilian, West African, and Indian musical traditions into smoldering jazz, reminiscent of Norah Jones." "Sauerkraut" Seth Travins presents "a genius pairing of two quite jazzy female vocalists leading hot, vintage-jazz ensembles," local jazz singer Julia Gottlieb & the Hudson Standards plus Miss Maybell and the Jazz Age Artistes at Club Helsinki Hudson, 8 p.m. Tickets are $16-$18. Doors open at 6 p.m., music at 8 p.m. Club Helsinki is a 21 and older venue, located at 405 Columbia St., Hudson, N.Y.
