NORTH ADAMS — The first gathering of the newly elected City Council members, School Committee members and mayor is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday in City Council Chambers at City Hall.

The agenda calls for council members and school committee members from both North Adams Public Schools and McCann Technical High School to recite the oath of office, and the city council members will elect a council president and vice president. Mayor Thomas Bernard will be sworn in for his second term in office, and he will also present his inaugural address.

The event, known as the Organization of Government, is a long-standing tradition in North Adams.
