North Adams man arrested in Adams Mobil gas station robbery
ADAMS — A North Adams man has been arrested in connection with the Dec. 26, 2019, armed robbery of the Mobil gas station on Howland Avenue.
The man was arrested by members of the Massachusetts State Police from the Springfield barracks and is being held pending arraignment in Northern Berkshire District Court, the Adams Police Department said in a Facebook post Monday night.
No further information was immediately available.
"We are thankful for the tremendous amount of work put in by the Detective, with a special thanks to Detectives of the North Adams Police Department, and other members of the Berkshire County Law Enforcement Task Force to ensure that this individual was arrested and will be brought forth before the court to answer to such charges," the post said.
The store was robbed around 12:15 a.m. Dec. 26, 2019. According to Adams police, a man wearing a mask entered the store, pulled out a large knife and demanded cash and cigarettes from the clerk. The man then fled on foot with a small amount of cash and a pack of cigarettes.
