North Adams man found dead in Windsor Lake


NORTH ADAMS >> Authorities are investigating the death of a city man whose body was found in Windsor Lake early Friday.

Leszek H. Godyn, 63, of Arnold Place, was found about 8 a.m., according to a press release by the Berkshire District Attorney's Office.

The incident is under investigation, but does not appear to be suspicious, the release stated.

A caller reported the body in the water to the police department at 7:48 a.m., according to dispatcher records. Seven officers were dispatched to the scene and North Adams Ambulance Service and North Adams Fire Department personnel. All emergency services were clear of the scene by 10:47 p.m.

The investigation is being conducted by members of the North Adams Police Department and state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney's Office.

Windsor Lake, located at the corner of Kemp Avenue and Bradley Street, is maintained by the city open to the public.
