Berkshire businesses receive health grants for underserved residents

Volunteers in Medicine Berkshires in Great Barrington and Berkshire Health Systems' Operation Better Start are among 10 Massachusetts community-based organizations that recently received a total of $100,000 from Fallon Health of Worcester to address health care barriers in underserved communities.

Fallon has also provided $10,000 to 56 community partners throughout the state through its Hunger Relief Initative.

Those organizations include Elder Services of Berkshire County Inc. in Pittsfield; The Nutrition Center in Great Barrington; and the Food Bank of Western MA in Hatfield.
