Dan + Shay spill details of Jonas-Turner wedding

How secretive was the wedding of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner? So secretive that even performers Dan + Shay didn't tell their own significant others.

"We were walking on eggshells. We didn't even tell our wives we were going there," said Dan Smyers, half of the country duo. "Getting to sing a song at the wedding was a big deal for us."

Jonas and Turner tied the knot May 1 in a secret ceremony at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas following the Billboard Music Awards. Dan + Shay performed "Speechless" — a song inspired by their wives — and there was an Elvis Presley impersonator as well.

Actress Turner and Jonas, part of the pop act The Jonas Brothers, are pals with Dan + Shay and asked them to perform since they were already attending the Billboard show.

"That was the craziest couple of hours of our lives," said Shay Mooney, the other half of Dan + Shay. "That was wild. But they are close friends of ours and it was cool to be there for that special moment."

Smith says that the family was heartbroken, but took solace that River was with God. The family asked that donations be made to Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas.

Smith, who is signed to Broken Bow Records, has released songs "If The Boot Fits," ''Backroad Song" and "Happens Like That." He and his wife, Amber, also have another son and a daughter.

Police: Body confirmed to be Mouseketeer

Police have confirmed that a body found in April at an Oregon home is that of missing man Dennis Day, who was an original member of Disney's "The Mickey Mouse Club."

The Oregon State Medical Examiner's office identified the body, although they were unable to use dental records or DNA because of the condition of the remains, Oregon State Police said Thursday. Police are still investigating Day's death.

He was reported missing in July by his husband, Ernie Caswell, who suffers from memory loss and was in the hospital when he made the report.

Day's car on July 26 was found at the Oregon coast. A missing person report said Day had "uncharacteristically" left his dog with a friend on the day he disappeared. His body was found in his Phoenix, Ore., home in early April.

Day was born in 1942. After moving to California, he began performing at age 6. When he was 10, he was among the first group of children hired for the Disney show.

Today's birthdays: Actress Alexandra Stewart ("Under the Cherry Moon") is 80. Singer Shirley Alston Reeves of The Shirelles is 78. Actor Andrew Stevens ("Dallas") is 64. Actress Kate Flannery ("The Office") is 55. Actor Hugh Dancy is 44. Country singer Lee Brice is 40. Bassist Bridget Kearney of Lake Street Dive is 34. Actor Tristin Mays (2018's "MacGyver," ''The Vampire Diaries") is 29. Actress Eden McCoy ("General Hospital") is 16.
