Pittsfield: Collection to aid Elizabeth Freeman Center

Members and their youth from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon), located at 470 East New Lenox Road, will be collecting new and lightly used adult and children's backpacks, school supplies and toys for the Elizabeth Freeman Center.

The center provides services for anyone facing domestic violence and sexual assault.

Additionally, a collection of body wash, shampoo and hair conditioners are needed for women, as well as other supplies of toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, washcloths, and combs.

These donations can be brought to the back entrance foyer of the church from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, Nov. 8 and 15, and from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays.

Contact Rhonda Chivers at 413-684-1042 for more information and for donation pickup if needed.
