South Congregational Church, First United Methodist Church, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, and Zion Lutheran Church will worship together on Sunday, Oct. 29, as visible sign of concord marking the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.

The combined worship service will take place at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen's, 67 East St. The Rev. Timothy Weisman, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, will preach at the service.

Five hundred years ago, on Oct. 31, 1517, a young Augustinian monk named Martin Luther nailed a collection of 95 theses to the doors of the Castle Church of Wittenberg, Germany, triggering a social and religious upheaval.

This event is open to the public. The morning will also feature a combined children's program, special music and a festive reception to follow.
