Pittsfield: Film examines 'puppy mills'

Berkshire Humane Society and Berkshire Voters for Animals will screen a documentary called "Dog by Dog" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Berkshire Museum.

The film examines efforts to tighten regulations on commercial dog kennels, or "puppy mills." Learn more at http://dogbydogdocumentary.com/.

In addition to helping reinforce the "adopt, don't shop" message, the event aims to educate people about current legislation to protect puppies and kittens and to ban the sale of cats and dogs in commercial pet shops.

Tickets are $7.50 for the general public and $5 for Berkshire Museum members.

A portion of all sales will be donated to Berkshire Humane Society and will support Catwalk Boutique. Berkshire Magazine is a sponsor.
