Pittsfield: Firefighters to compete in Combat Challenge

Regional firefighters will compete in the Firefighter Combat Challenge on Friday and Saturday, June 14 and 15, at Berkshire Crossing, 555 Hubbard Ave.

Competitors will race head-to-head as they simulate the physical demands of real-life firefighting by performing a linked series of five tasks while wearing full gear.

Activities begin at 5 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday. There will be food trucks, fire safety demos, and Eversource will have a demo as well.

A scaled down version of the event called the Greylock Federal Credit Union Kid's Course is free to children ages 4-12.
