Hancock Shaker Village announces the opening of its historic buildings and anniversary exhibition, "Notes About Home: 60 Years at Hancock Shaker Village," on Saturday, July 11. The Village will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays.

The story-driven special exhibition explores the museum's history through objects, photographs, headlines, posters, and blueprints — some on display for the first time — as well as an online component sharing oral histories and videos.

In the spirit of storytelling, "Hancock Stories" invites visitors to contribute memories about the Village on notecards and add them to the exhibition timeline. Memories in the form of stories or photographs may also be submitted online at HancockStories.org.

The Hancock Stories website explains how to participate in the ongoing project, which will serve as an archive in the permanent collection.
