PITTSFIELD — A city man received a knock on his Brown Street door on Monday and answered it with a gun, police said.

Lt. Jeffrey Bradford said a neighbor of Alfred J. Roy II, 54, reportedly went to Roy's door intending to pay him back a small amount of money. When Roy opened the door, Bradford said Roy allegedly pointed a high-caliber gun with a long scope at his neighbor's head.

Roy was not at home when officers acted upon the report, which they received around 11:30 a.m., but Bradford said they later located and arrested him on a warrant issued in Berkshire District Court. Officers charged Roy with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and threatening to commit a crime, and he is being held on $5,000 bail.
