Pittsfield police investigate shooting on Tyler Street


PITTSFIELD — Police are investigating a shooting late Thursday evening, according to Pittsfield Police Lt. Gary Traversa.

The shooting was detected about 10:47 p.m. by a ShotSpotter notification in the area of Tyler and Pine streets, he said.

The victim, whose injures were not believed to be life threatening, made his way to Berkshire Medical Center on his own.

The department has a suspect in the shooting.

"We have a warrant for who we believe was responsible, who we’re not going to name at this point," Traversa said.
