Pittsfield Police looking for witnesses in Friday night accident that left pedestrian dead


PITTSFIELD — City police are looking for eyewitnesses to a fatal car-pedestrian crash late Friday night on Tyler Street.

Around 11:40 p.m., Abiah Casey-Williams, 35, from Pittsfield was heading east in the 300 block of Tyler when her 2012 GMC Arcadia struck another city woman. Sixty-year-old Laurie Williamson was rushed from the scene by County Ambulance to Berkshire Medical Center where she died a short time later from her injuries, police said.

So far, no charges in the case as the Pittsfield Police Department Accident Investigation Unit is still trying to determine what led to the crash. Anyone with information or who saw the crash are urged to call Officer James McIntyre at 413-448-9700, extension 341.
