PITTSFIELD — A 32-year-old man was killed on Dalton Avenue early Sunday morning, apparently by a hit-and-run driver, local authorities said.

The Berkshire District Attorney's Office on Sunday evening identified the pedestrian as Christopher Reynolds, address unknown, who died of blunt-force trauma.

City police are looking for the light-colored Ford SUV that witnesses say struck Reynolds and kept on driving.

The collision took place around 1:30 a.m. in the vicinity of 457 Dalton Ave., just east of the intersection with Plastics Avenue. Police say the driver was traveling east and kept going in the direction of Dalton.

Pittsfield Police want to hear from anyone who has information about the incident at 413-448-9700.

The Ford is likely to have front-end damage, police said.

Derek J. Talbot, 21, was released on personal recognizance after his arraignment Wednesday in Central Berkshire District Court. He must remain drug- and alcohol-free and submit to random screenings while on pretrial probation.

Police say Talbot struck Sean Labonte, 41, in a crosswalk, leaving him with head trauma and a fractured skull. Labonte was taken to Berkshire Medical Center and later transferred to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
