Pittsfield: Rotary Club names Butler Award recipient

Gwendolyn Davis received the 37th Donald G. Butler Award from the Rotary Club of Pittsfield at a luncheon meeting on March 28. A reception followed that evening at Otto's Kitchen.

The award is presented annually to the Rotarian who best represents those ideals of service which were exemplified by Butler, a City Councilor and Pittsfield mayor, during his lifetime. A $200 stipend to the charity of the recipient's choice and a plaque are awarded.

A Pittsfield Rotarian since 1997, Davis is a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow, the Club's Rotary International representative and runs the annual Rotary International Foundation Drive. She is chairwoman of the Gene Case Scholarship Fund, sergeant at arms, a member of the Benevolence Committee, and participates in all club activities and special events.
