Pittsfield: Temple celebrating fall festivals

Temple Anshe Amunim, 26 Broad St., will celebrate three autumn festivals beginning with Sukkot, a celebration of the harvest season featuring the building of an outdoor sukkah.

Sukkah decorating will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1. Pizza, cider and doughnuts will be served in the Sukkah. RSVP to the Temple Office at 413-442-5910.

A Sukkot study session begins at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, followed by a morning festival service at 10:30 a.m.

A study session for last day of Sukkot will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, followed by a Shemini Atzeret festival service with Yizkor, the memorial service, at 10:30 a.m.

A family-friendly service for Simchat Torah begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13. This event is open to the public with a dinner to follow. Dinner costs $18 per person, $10 for children 12 and under, with a maximum of $40 per family.

Dinner reservations are required by Oct. 10.
