Pittsfield: Temple to celebrate High Holy Days


Temple Anshe Amunim, 26 Broad St., will celebrate the Jewish High Holy Days with a full schedule of services.

Cantorial soloist Rachel Slusky will lend her musical talents and spiritual insights to services during the festival season.

The High Holy Days begin with a contemplative Selichot service at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, with music and guided meditation.

Rosh Hashanah services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, followed by a festive oneg; family services at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, followed by a congregational service at 10:30 a.m.

All are welcome to celebrate the holiday's second day with Rosh Hashanah in Nature at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, Lenox, followed by a short nature walk; wear appropriate footwear.

Yom Kippur will begin with the Kol Nidre service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18.

Yom Kippur services on Wednesday, Sept. 19, include a family service at 9 a.m., congregational service at 10:30 a.m., study session at 1:30 p.m., and afternoon service at 3 p.m. led by the Religious School students.

The Yizkor and Ne'ilah (closing) services at 5 p.m. Sept. 19 will be followed by a break-the-fast reception. RSVP for break-the-fast by Sept. 12.
