Pittsfield: Veterans Day parade, ceremony

PITTSFIELD — The city's annual Veterans Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at City Hall on Fenn Street. Lineup will take place from 9:30-9:45 a.m. The march will proceed to North Street and South Street ending at Veterans Memorial Park for the ceremony.

Guest speaker is Marine Corps Veteran Curtis Janey and Veteran of the Year is George Winters, Marine Corps. Master of ceremonies is John Herrera, former Marine, retired Coast Guardsman, and the city's director of Veterans Services.

In the event of inclement weather, the exercises will be held at Morningside Community School, 100 Burbank St.

After the ceremonies, veterans and their families are invited to attend a luncheon at the Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic at 73 Eagle St. The event will also feature free haircuts and massages for veterans.
