Pittsfield woman hit in South Street crosswalk


PITTSFIELD — A city woman riding a scooter suffered minor injuries Wednesday when she was struck by a car in a South Street crosswalk.

Police said the woman, 74, was transported to Berkshire Medical Center for treatment following the crash, which occurred around 5:44 p.m.

She was hit in the northbound lane by a 2017 Mercedes driven by Judith Goldsmith, of Portland, Ore., according to police. Police said she was cited for failing to yield for a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
