Three rail projects are currently in various stages of discussion and planning in the Berkshires. Two of the proposals would increase rail travel between New York City and Berkshire County. Another could someday provide high-speed rail between Pittsfield and Boston.

In this edition of The Berkshire Eagle podcast, host Mark Mills speaks with state Sen. Adam Hinds, Democrat from Pittsfield, who has been spearheading efforts on Beacon Hill for rail service in the Berkshires. Guests also include Eagle reporter Kristin Palpini, who has covered the railroad story, and Chan Lowe, deputy editorial page editor for The Eagle, who wrote an editorial on railroad service in the Berkshires for the paper’s Sunday, April 1, edition.
