LANESBOROUGH — The Lanesborough Police Department seeks information about an alleged shooting that happened Sunday afternoon in the Berkshire Mall parking lot.

A man from out of the area went to Berkshire Medical Center around 3:30 p.m. Sunday and reported that he'd been shot, according to Lanesborough Police Chief Timothy Sorrell. The man's injuries were not life-threatening, Sorrell said.

He said he wasn't able to offer more details.

"We are still in the early stages of the investigation," he said, noting Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney's Office are assisting.

Sorrell asks anyone who was at the mall Sunday between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. and saw anything that could help to contact the department at 413-443-4107
