SHEFFIELD — A Lakeville, Conn. man died after the car he was driving crashed on Berkshire School Road on Thursday night.A preliminary investigation indicates that around 11:32 p.m., Jesus Santos, 19, lost control of his car, according to a statement from the Berkshire District Attorney's Office. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, and Santos, a graduate of Mount Everett Regional High School, was the only occupant of the car. In a statement, Regulbuto said she had learned of the crash Friday morning, and that the district's crisis team is available to support students and faculty who are struggling with Santos' death."Our thoughts are with his family at this incredibly difficult time," she wrote. The accident remains under investigation by members of the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney's office, the MSP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (C.A.R.S.), the MSP Crime Scene Services Section, MSP troopers from SP Lee and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
