Police investigating shots fired near Greylock Apartments in North Adams

Posted

NORTH ADAMS — Police responded to reports of shots fired at the corner of Angeli and Grant streets near the Greylock Apartments on Thursday night, but they found no weapons, suspects or injuries.

The 911 call came in at 9:27 p.m., according to North Adams Police Chief Jason Wood.

"There is evidence leading us to believe a firearm was discharged," Wood said via email. "Fortunately, at this time, there does not appear to be any injuries to persons or property. I should mention that any involved parties had fled the scene prior to police arrival."

The incident is still under investigation by the North Adams Police Detective Bureau and Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney's Office.
