PITTSFIELD — A 33-year-old Pittsfield man was shot in the foot Friday in an incident that littered an area of Fenn Street with shell casings.

Shots fired struck not only that man, Pittsfield police said Saturday, but a parked car and a nearby home.

Police say the sound of gunfire was picked up on the city's detection system, ShotSpotter, at about 10:40 p.m. on the block of Fenn Street between Second and Third streets.

The dispatch center soon received several 911 calls.

Officers investigating the shootings learned from Berkshire Medical Center that a man had come into its emergency department seeking care for a gunshot wound.

The department said the shooting remains under investigation by detectives. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Lt. Michael Maddalena at 448-9705, Extension 574.
