Pittsfield Police warn public about suspicious man

PITTSFIELD — City police are warning residents to be on the lookout for a man who has been trying to get women into his car.

In at least one case, police said in a prepared release, the man tried to physically force a woman in his car, but she hit him and was able to free herself.

The suspect is a dark-skinned black male about 6 feet tall with short hair and a foreign accent.

Witnesses have observed him driving what they believe to be a tan or silver Toyota Camry, and they've also seen him as a passenger in the same vehicle.

Anyone with knowledge of this man or who would like to report a similar incident should contact the Pittsfield Police Detective Bureau at 413-448-9705. Tips can also be sent anonymously via text to 847-411 and via the department's Facebook page.
