PITTSFIELD — New England Newspapers Inc. President Fredric D. Rutberg enjoyed coffee with readers and friends of the Berkshire Eagle on Tuesday at Otto’s Breakfast and Deli on Park Square.

During the hour-long conversation at Otto’s, a number of Eagle readers offered Rutberg comments and suggestions, as well as praise for the investment into and reinvigoration of the newspaper under local ownership. Some suggested story ideas, while others expressed concern about police blotter coverage and some asked for an events calendar in print that includes tomorrow’s events today.

Rutberg will be at a similar event again today (Wednesday, May 3) at Ozzie’s in Hinsdale at 8 a.m.

Upcoming events will be held at The Chef’s Hat in Williamstown on May 10, Dottie’s Coffee Lounge in Pittsfield on May 11, and Haflinger Haus in Adams on May 16.
