"Asian-Americans: No More Perpetual Foreigners," is the theme of a panel discussion being presented by the Pittsfield Human Rights Commission, at 2 p.m., on Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Berkshire Museum, 39 South St., Pittsfield.

Free and open to the community, the program will explore the Asian-American identity and cultural contexts and stereotypes occurring in the Berkshires and throughout the United States.

Speakers include: Helen Haerhan Moon, a critical care nurse at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington; Deepika Bains Shukla, an assistant federal attorney for the District of Massachusetts in Springfield; Setsuko Winchester, a former journalist, editor and producer at NPR's "Morning Edition" and "Talk of the Nation" turned ceramicist and visual artist; and K. Scott Wong, the Charles R. Keller Professor of History at Williams College.

Western New England University is offering a 10-week data science bootcamp, "Data Science & Analytics," in partnership with Startup Institute, from Oct. 3 through Dec. 12, at CLICK Workspace, 9 1/2 Market St., downtown Northampton. This is the first program of its kind being offered to the community and based in Western Massachusetts.

The boot camp is a response to the increased demand from companies looking for talent in big data analytics, science, and analysis, with the skill sets most in demand within the technology landscape.

"Fall Films at Five: A Spielberg Sampler" film screening series kicks off on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 5 p.m., in the Morris Stockbridge Room, of The Stockbridge Library, Musem & Archives, 46 Main St., Stockbridge. Admission is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be available for purchase.

The film screening celebrates the 40th anniversary of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," (rated PG, 137 minutes) starring Richard Dreyfuss, Fran ois Truffaut, and Teri Garr.
