Roundup: Lenox girls soccer team tops Lee to clinch Berkshire South title

LENOX — The Lenox girls soccer team clinched a Berkshire South title with a 2-0 win over Lee on Saturday.

The Millionaires (9-5-3, 7-0) got the winner through Shelby Lynch in the first half, then Nicole Gamberoni scored the insurance tally in the 48th minute.

"Lee has been a on a great run recently as they've been fighting their way into the tournament, so we knew they were going to come in to this game playing some confident soccer," Lenox coach Kyle Zinchuck wrote in an email. "Fortunately, we were able to keep our emotions in check on Senior Night and come away with a win against a good Lee squad."

Lee finishes the regular season with a 9-9 record overall, and a 4-4 mark in the league. Lenox plays Taconic on Monday to finish up the regular season.

In his email, Zinchuck noted the importance of his three seniors — Talia Traversa, Sarah Fenton and Kristin Parkinson.
