Roundup: Pittsfield boys roll to win over Baystate Academy

SPRINGFIELD —Make it four straight wins for the Pittsfield boys basketball team.

The Generals improved to 6-2 on the year with a 61-41 win over Baystate Academy on Saturday night.

Joe Cracolici went for 16 in the win, including 10 in the third quarter. Carter Matthews came off the bench to score 18 points. Donte Cruz also reached double figures in the win, posting 13.

"Slow start for both teams and Baystate came out with a lot of scrappy energy," Pittsfield coach Brandon Mauer wrote in an email. "Carter Matthews had another great game off the bench on both ends. Sam Higuera steadied us with his assists while Don't Cruz steadied us on the boards, complimenting Joe Cracolici's 16-point night."
