SPRINGFIELD — A seventh-straight win landed the Millionaires in the Western Massachusetts tournament. The Lenox girls leapt out of the gates, scoring 23 points in the first quarter in Wednesday's 63-24 win at Hampden Charter.

Kat Nichols scored a game-high 13 points on a night where every Millionaire (10-6) ate. Each and every baller that stepped into the game for Lenox scored.

"We have to go back-to-back with Lee up next so we wanted to get after them," Lenox Coach Nicole Patella said. "This gave us a chance to rest our starters and our second unit has played well defensively."

The defense traveled well, to say the least. Hampden Charter was held to five points or less in two of the game's four quarters.

Sophie Patella added 12 and Tabor Paul, who did all over her scoring from beyond the arc, finished with nine points.

Tonight's matchup between the Millionaires and Wildcats is loaded with Berkshire South implications. Lenox (5-1) currently has a half-game lead over Lee (4-1) in the Berkshire South. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Lenox.
