If the high school football season ended Tuesday, four Berkshire County teams would qualify for the MIAA West Sectional playoffs.

Wahconah, Hoosac Valley, Drury and Lee are all among the top four in their respective divisions. Four teams in each of the four Western Massachusetts Divisions qualify for the tournament.

Hoosac Valley is the top-ranked team in the Division VIII field this week. The Hurricanes, who were ranked second last week, knocked off previous No. 1 Ware 38-27, and the two schools flipped spots in the rankings.

Hoosac (5-0) has a rating of 13.80, while Ware (3-1) is at 12.75.

The other two of the top four teams in D-VIII are Berkshire County teams. Drury (3-1), a 28-13 winner over Pathfinder, is the third-rated team at 10.75. Lee is 2-3, but the Wildcats are fourth at 8.60, just ahead of No. 5 Mohawk at 8.50. The Wildcats, who beat Mahar 30-7 last week, jumped from No. 7.

The top four teams in Division VII remain the same, but their orders have changed. South Hadley (4-0), a 35-18 winner over Pittsfield last Thursday, is still No. 1, and the Tigers rating rose to 17.00.

Frontier Regional (3-1) was off last week, but saw its rating rise to 13.63. Wahconah (4-0) was second last week, but slipped to third. The Warriors' rating is 12.75 this week, a fraction higher than last week. The No. 4 team in Division VII is Chicopee (3-1), with a rating of 11.25.

Monument Mountain (2-2) is rated fifth with 8.25, while Pittsfield (1-3) is sixth with 7.13, and Taconic (1-3) is seventh with 6.63.

Minnechaug and Central are 1-2 this week in Division III, while in D-V, Amherst, Belchertown, Northampton and West Springfield remain the top four.
