Route 7 crash sends two to hospital
LENOX — Two people suffered what appeared to be non life-threatening injuries in a 2-car crash in Lenox on Thursday, according to police.
Lenox Police Officer Michael Smith said the two drivers, both female, were conscious when first responders transported them to Berkshire Medical Center. The collision, which Smith said appeared to be head-on, occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Pittsfield Road near the Hampton Inn & Suites.
Smith said it took time for crews to remove debris from the scene, and so assisting officers from the Massachusetts State Police and the Pittsfield Police Department directed traffic down Dan Fox Drive for about 45 minutes following the crash.
Both vehicles showed heavy front-end damage and the incident remains under investigation, he said.
