BECKET — Artists from Becket, Washington and Otis will open their studios to the public on Saturday, Sept. 5, for the Becket Arts Center's Open Studios DriveAbout 2020.

A map of the open studios can be downloaded from or picked up at the Becket Arts Center at 7 Brooker Hill Road, where five of the 14 participating artists will have their work on display. Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 6.

"The pandemic has impacted all of us, and yet artists continue to create beautiful and compelling work that inspires, moves, and calls us to reflect, act, or create work of our own," DriveAbout Committee Chairwoman Hannah Sukonick.

Artists participating in the second annual open studios tour work in a wide array of media including painting, sculpture, photography, woodworking, ceramics, jewelry making, unique crocheted fashions, textiles and original writing. A complete list of the artists, including biographies and examples of their work can be found on and are included in the print brochures.

COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place at every venue.

"We are taking every precaution to keep our visitors and participating artists safe," Sukonick said, "Everyone visiting a studio or the Becket Arts Center will be required to wear a mask. The number of people at any given location will be limited. Every venue will have hand sanitizer available."
