Sheffield: Quaker UN representative to deliver talk


A conversation with Lindsey Fielder Cook, a Sheffield native and the Quaker United Nations office representative on climate change, will take place at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at First Congregational Church, Old Parish Church, 125 Main St.

Cook will speak about her ongoing work: the hope, struggles and shared challenges related to climate change. Cook has a background in peacebuilding and climate change, has worked on humanitarian and donor coordination efforts for the United Nations in the West Bank and Gaza, the former Yugoslavia, Somalia, and on communications with United Nations volunteers in Bonn, Germany.
