Datenight Ideas: Shred those workday blues with some datenight fun

FRIDAY, MAY 3

Kick your weekend off right with at Shire Breu-House's monthly BFG Dance Party, 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., 63 Flansburg Ave., Dalton. $5 cover. This is a 21+ event.

Johnny Irion, who has recently released a solo record, "Driving Friend," with members of Dawes, Wilco, Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers, performs two sets at the Egremont Barn with Brian Kantor and Wes Buckley, 8 p.m. Tickets are $15. Find the Barn at 17 Main St., South Egremont.

There's more live music to be found at Dewey Hall. Oldtone Productions presents Jerron Paxton and Dennis Lichtman, 7:30 p.m. According to Oldtone Productions, "Jerron 'Blind Boy' Paxton and Dennis Lichtman have a reputation for transporting audiences back to the 1920s and making them wish they could stay there for good." Tickets are $25 at the door.

Grahm Sturz returns to perform original music and covers at Hotel on North, 8 p.m., 297 North St., Pittsfield.

Spencertown Academy Roots & Shoots Concerts Series presents folk-pop duo The Chapin Sisters, 8 p.m., 790 NY-203, Spencertown, N.Y. Spencertown Academy says that since 2005, The Chapin Sisters have garnered critical acclaim with their alluring vocals and distinctive blend of folk music roots and modernist sensibilities. Tickets are $20.

Grammy Award-winner Roseanne Cash performs a benefit gala concert at Club Helsinki Hudson, 9 p.m., gala begins at 7:30 p.m. In addition to Cash's performance, the evening will feature door prizes, a raffle, tales from the river and more. Tickets begin at $135.

You've got two opportunities to make your date laugh this weekend. Don't miss The Infield Comedy Night with Kate Willett, 8 p.m., 10 Lyman St., Pittsfield. Tickets are $18 at the door. Or check out the third installment of the Uncorked Comedy Showcase, featuring Shafi Roen Hossain, Victoria Diana, Cody Montane and Ryan Andersons, 8 to 9:30 p.m. at Uncorked Wine and Beer Lounge, 137 North St., Pittsfield.

Rusty Anchor is celebrating both of this weekend's big events with a Cinco de Derby dinner Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 6 p.m. Wear your fancy Kentucky Derby duds or your favorite outfit for Cinco de Mayo and enjoy some live music by Melissa Brinton, nachos and tacos. The Rusty Anchor is located at 1451 North St., Pittsfield.

Spirited Wines is holding a Tuscan wine dinner event at Mazzeo's, 6 to 8:30 p.m., featuring Carpineto Tuscan wines paired with four courses and dessert, with special guest speaker Ciro Pirone.
