Springfield man arrested in shooting that injured Pittsfield woman

PITTSFIELD — A Springfield man was arrested Monday in a shooting last week that left a Pittsfield woman injured.

Myron Crapps, 29, is facing charges of assault and battery by discharge of a firearm and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.

On July 7, a 43-year-old woman was found with apparent gunshot wounds while on the south side of the street, across from 14 Kent Ave. in Pittsfield. Her injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Crapps was arrested Monday in Springfield, according to a news release from the Pittsfield Police Department. Members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force, Massachusetts State Police, Hamden County Sheriff's Department and Springfield Police Department assisted in the arrest.
