State gas prices drop
BOSTON — After rising 5 cents last week, state gas prices have dropped 4 cents this week, according to AAA Northeast. AAA's survey of state gas prices Monday found regular unleaded averaging $2.80 per gallon, 6 cents lower than the national average. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was 1 cent higher at $2.81.
"The move to cheaper gas prices indicates that supply and demand are potentially leveling out," said AAA Northeast spokeswoman Mary Maguire.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 43 cents, from a low of $2.62 to a high of $3.05.
