Stockbridge: Choir to perform Christmas concert

The Stockbridge Festival Chorus will present its annual Christmas concert at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at First Congregational Church, 4 Main St.

The 50-voice choir, under the direction of Tracy Wilson, will perform traditional English Carols such as "The Holly and the Ivy," and "I saw Three Ships," as well as music from Spain, France, Mexico, and Wales.

Selections from modern composers John Rutter, David Willcocks, Herbert Howells, and others will be featured, as well as arrangements by local composers David Anderegg and Charles Fitzhugh.

A reception will immediately follow the concert.

Tickets may be purchased at the door. The suggested donation is $15 for regular attendees, with a $10 donation for members of area community choruses. Children 18 and under will be admitted free. A portion of the ticket proceeds will be directed to the church's education programs.
