Strawberry festival, pancake breakfast on tap this week


The Second Congregational Church will hold a Strawberry Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church, Route 43 (Hancock Road), Williamstown.

The festival will feature homemade strawberry shortcake, lunch, bake sale, crafters, tag sale, jewelry table, Chinese auction, plants and children's games.


Dewey Hall in Sheffield will hold its annual pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Father's Day, June 17.

The breakfast is $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger. Attendees will have a choice of plain or blueberry pancakes made with local berries. Pure maple syrup will be served. A raffle will also be held.

The proceeds from this event will help sustain Dewey Hall.

Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum will present W. Douglas McCombs, speaking on "Woods & Waters, Hudson River School Landscapes" in its summer Tea & Talks series at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Victorian teas will be served at the conclusion of each talk. Admission per person is $26 for advance reservations and $32 for the day of the event. Call 413-637-3206 for reservations and visit for more information.
