Revelers celebrate ward results at the party for Pittsfield Mayor Linda Tyer at the Pittsfield Country Club on Tuesday night.

Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019

Good day, Berkshire County. It was a rollicking election eve Tuesday night in North Adams and Pittsfield, where voters returned their mayors for another term, as well as welcomed newcomers and oldcomers alike to boards that govern their schools and cities.

Here's those stories and more ...

TYER TAKES PITTSFIELD: After coming in second place in the September preliminary election, Pittsfield Mayor Linda Tyer retains her seat in a contentious run against Melissa Mazzeo.

BERNARD, THE SEQUEL: North Adams Mayor Thomas Bernard handily defeats citizen Rachel Branch to earn a second term in the city's corner office.

COHEN ET AL: Yuki Cohen, the mind behind Methuselah bar, lands herself an at large seat on the Pittsfield City Council. Incumbents Peter Marchetti, Earl Persip III and Pete White also held on to their seats. Other councilors elected were Helen Moon, Chris Connell, Patrick Kavey, Dina Guiel Lampiasi, Anthony Maffuccio, Kevin Morandi and Nicholas Caccamo.

SOME NEW, SOME OLD FACES: You'll recognize most of the names on the latest roster of North Adams city councilors.

SELF DEFENSE IN COURT?: A city man accused of killing another asks a Berkshire judge if he can defend himself in court.
